"Heartfelt Harvey"

We shared Thanksgiving dinner with our Anthony's extended family.  It was a good opportunity to meet many of them - even though we'll never remember names - before we see them at the wedding.  I wanted to thank our hostess, Anthony's mom, for inviting us, so I stitched Heartfelt Harvey from the JCS 2008 Christmas Ornament issue.

The designer, Imaginating, Inc., called for red thread, but Anthony thought his mom would like purple, so I chose a deep purple DMC floss.  I finished Harvey as a flat fold, using Vonna's fantabulous instructions

This took me about three sessions to stitch.  I confess to having fudged in some spots, since I didn't have time to stop and figure out where I made mistakes.

Anthony reported that his mom liked the gift.  Now to stitch one for myself.  In red, this time.

Happy Thanksgiving!

To all my U.S. readers, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!  For those outside the United States, every day is a good day to count your blessings and find at least one thing to be thankful for.

Sampler & Gift

I've put in more time on the wedding sampler, but I don't have a picture for you, and I'm too tired to take one now.  It's been a busy three weeks, and a long three days.  (You can read about some of it on my husband's Caring Bridge site.)

I also started a gift for our hostess on Thanksgiving Day.  I'm making good progress.  Since it's a gift, I will wait until after next Thursday (assuming I finish it!) to share.

Next to nothing has been done about Christmas here, except for baking a few cookies.  It's time to let my fingers do the walking - on the Internet.  I will probably order most of the gifts for our family.  Guess I ought to get moving on that!

Sampler Update

Our cable and Internet went out for a while tonight, so I turned to a good movie (Stargate:  The Ark of Truth) and the wedding sampler.  I stitched to the bottom point of another triangle on the right side, then did a bit on the left.

I may take another break to do some quick Christmas stitching; at the least, I'd like to stitch a winter something for Anthony's mother to thank her for inviting us to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with their extended family.

Non-Progress

Very little progress has been made on Grace and Anthony's wedding sampler.  Only the section that sticks down on the right has been put in since my last update.  I still have 200 days before the wedding, so why rush?!

The moon tonight was large and beautiful.  I tried to get some pictures of it, but without a tripod, this was all I was able to get.
